BIOGRAPHY
Mark started in business at a young age, first working for and then with his dad. In his early twenties he bought property in Northern Maine and paid it off before turning forty. In his early thirties he married and moved to Northern Maine full time where his business ventures branched out into property maintenance and renting.
When he first moved North there was a possibility of buying an existing veterinary practice, but God had other plans. He was able to buy more land as well as learn some basics about the veterinary field. It was spiritual prompting as well that helped him pursue buying the property where Aroostook Animal Emergency Services is located.
When he is not taking care of business he can be found either with his family, participating in church events, or enjoying the great outdoors of his property from chainsawing to bush-hogging to hunting.
BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Annie’s connection and interest in animal care started at a young age. From a toddler having the patience to let chipmunks eat out of her hand to school projects and vet shadowing at 10 years old. Many of her major life decisions revolved around becoming a veterinarian.
While attending veterinary school she realized that her love for Christ, her love for people, and her love of animals could be entwined. She solidified her interest in small animal, pocket pet, and wildlife care. She also traveled abroad including two trips to Honduras with Christian Veterinary Mission to provide care for the animals and people in small villages. She realized that she enjoys sharing her knowledge with other people and would take animals to educational talks. After vet school she spent a summer teaching U.S. high school and college students about veterinary medicine in Thailand and has since participated in different educational opportunities at the middle school and high school level.
She has spent most of her veterinary career working in Northern Maine and has always worked for practices that see after hours emergencies. Through discussion with employers and coworkers and prompting from spiritual leaders she took the leap to start Aroostook Animal Emergency Services to fill the void of a needed veterinary service in the Northernmost County in Maine.
When she is not working, she can be found enjoying time with her family on their homesteading property, participating in local church events, and fitting in some travel here and there, mostly to visit family and friends.
